HOMETOWNPAPERMONEY.COM

HOMETOWNPAPERMONEY.COM is a division of The Executive Coin Company of Stow, Ohio.

The very beginning of our company can be traced back to the 1950's in Three Rivers, Michigan.

It was there, that a young Bill Miholer would sift through the money he collected on his paper route looking for "treasures" to add to his coin collection.

As time passed he would occasionally add to his collection, but it would not be until several years later that he would appreciate its true value.

A job change brought Bill, his wife Terry and their two sons, David and Michael to Stow, Ohio in the 1970's. It was in 1977 that the value of the coin collection that Bill had kept as a boy began to be realized. Bill's older son David purchased a book on coin collecting at a school book sale. Amazed that the coins he had in his bank might actually be worth more than face value, David rushed home to check the value of his coins. In reality not many were worth more than face value. When Bill came home from work that evening David was eager to show him his new book. It was then that Bill took the opportunity to show his coin collection to his son. The rest, as they say, is history.

As time passed, going to coin shops and attending coin shows became family outings. When David was in high school he and his father began setting up at coin shows and began selling their coins to the public and other dealers. David's coin knowledge and negotiating skills quickly earned him the respect of the dealers. In 1986, as David left for college at John Carroll University, he continued to buy and sell coins. His father helped him from home and a business was born. In the winter of 1989, David's roommate suggested that he name the thriving business The Executive Coin Company - and the name stuck. As the business grew it became time to move out of the family's home. In 1990 3 major events occurred. David graduated from John Carroll in May. In June he married Lisa Francis. And, in July The Executive Coin Company opened in the Oregon Trails Plaza in Stow. It remained in that location for eleven years.

In 1992 another key piece of Executive Coin was added as David's brother Michael came to work for the family business. At that time the store was selling coins and sportscards. Michael became the expert in the sportscard part of the business. As the sportscard industry died Executive Coin replaced it with jewelry. Again, Michael stepped up and became the in-house expert on where to buy merchandise. It was also during this period that the collection of National Bank Notes that you will see in our inventory began to be accumulated. Things continued to change and in 1996 Michael married Alechia Reisinger.

In the summer of 1999, David, Michael, and Bill acquired the property on which The Executive Coin Company now sits. David and Michael continue to be responsible for the wholesale part of the business, which still includes many coin shows during the year. Bill still makes sure that all of our retail customers are satisfied. With the help of several non-family employees, the Miholers begin the twenty-first century with a renewed dedication to serving the public with an exceptional selection of Currency and Collector Coins in our retail store, at coin shows, and on-line. Our staff is ready to help you and answer any questions that you may have. We invite you to submit you want list and browse our selection of over 600 National Bank Notes from 42 different states.
